A person was struck and killed by a commercial airplane in Austin on Thursday April 30 at around 8pm, KXAN reports.

The plane was landing on a runway along the 3600 block of Presidential Boulevard at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators do not believe the adult was supposed to be there at the time. A watch commander working for the Austin Police reported that the deceased was not dressed as an airline worker nor carried a form of identification.

Officials are still investigating how the incident happened, according to airport spokesman Bryce Dubee.
